NWLJ FA Level 2 Junior Leadership Course
Following on from the FA Level 1 Junior Leadership Course, North West London Jets is offering players aged 14+ who have obtained the Level 1 Junior Leadership Qualification the opportunity to progress their development in coaching and refereeing through the FA Level 2 Junior Leadership Award.

The Level 2 Award in Leadership through Football (QCF) is a new and exciting qualification that will enable young people to develop Leadership skills through supporting the development of grass-roots football.
Learners completing the qualification will be introduced to a number of leadership roles including:
Who is the Qualification for?
Anyone between the ages of 14 and 19 years of age who are interested in developing leadership skills (although consideration will be made by the awarding body for older learners) and would like an introduction to volunteering or a possible career in the sports industry. This is the ideal qualification for those who are interested in:
The qualification is a Level 2 Award worth 10 Credits and sits on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It has also been accredited to be delivered as part of the Additional and Specialist Learning section of the new Sport and Active Leisure Diploma. The recommended guided delivery hours range from 62-100 hours, depending upon the learners needs.
Progression routes:
The qualification is an excellent introduction for those looking to progress within the voluntary or employed world of sport and sports development, with this qualification giving learners a kick-start into the skills of coaching, refereeing, sports administration and development. In addition to this students will become qualified as a Mini-Soccer referee and upon completing FA Safe Guarding & FA First Aid courses at the age of 16 students can apply to become a FA Level 1 Licensed Football Coach.
Supporting Materials for Students and Tutors
A comprehensive 160 page Learner Resource Pack for each learner, a Learner Pack containing 12 assessment tasks and a 3 hour 30 min DVD narrated by Martin Tyler.
An extensive tutor/assessor guidance pack, available via FA-delivered tutor induction events, including comprehensive Unit by Unit schemes of work, 9 PowerPoint presentations, a DVD, additional tutor resources and FA posters, on-line qualification administration, enabling tutors to process courses and learners quickly and effectively, enabling tutors to access the records held.

Learners are required to be aged between 14 and 19 years of age upon commencement of the qualification.
